What does ABA therapy at Apollo include?

ABA (applied behavior analysis) teaches children with autism everyday skills such as talking or using another way to communicate, playing with other kids, following routines, using the bathroom and handling frustration. At Apollo, therapy happens at our centers, where your child works one-on-one with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designs your child’s plan, supervises therapy and meets with parents regularly so you can use the same strategies at home.

Most of the day looks like play, with short teaching sessions, time with other children, snacks and movement breaks. Read more about what ABA therapy is and how it works, or see what a typical day at an ABA center looks like.

If your child doesn’t have a diagnosis yet, Apollo also offers autism diagnostic evaluations. For what to do after a diagnosis, see our first-week checklist for Georgia parents.

What insurance does Apollo accept in Georgia?

Apollo is in network with Anthem, Cigna, Optum, Kaiser, Aetna and Georgia Medicaid. Our Columbus and Warner Robins centers also work with many military families on Tricare. Our team checks your benefits for you before therapy starts.

Georgia law requires many insurance plans to cover ABA therapy for autism. Children who don’t qualify for Medicaid based on family income may still qualify through the Katie Beckett program. These guides explain the details:

How long is the wait for ABA therapy?
